We ate a Hollyhock Hill last week for grandma's birthday. I have to admit that I was not thrilled about the choice of dining establishments when I found out where we were going. I have been on a health kick for the last few years and tried to stay away from heavy food restaurants.
I have never had anything besides fried chicken here and it had been years since I had that. We ended up ordering several different entrees and sharing. Even though I tried to be good and order a grilled chicken entree I found myself going back to the fried chicken. There is a reason why this place still thrives (it was packed). Not that I want fried chicken all the time but man is it good.
The down home food the way....well the way grandma used to make it is among the best. Not a place we would go all the time but I am looking forward to grandma's birthday next year.....if I don't sneak back before that.
