Review title: Impressed before entering the restaurant: Mudsock's

Wanting something casual, but still new, hubby T and I ventured out on Saturday to a location we've passed several times but just haven't made it to: Mudsock's Grill.

As we were in the car driving, I tweeted that I was excited to try the new location.  Almost immediately, Jess Mitchell, the banquet manager of Mudsock's welcomed me via direct message.  Before I even stepped foot into the restaurant, the service was already top notch.

The environment is perfectly casual, a family friendly restaurant with many tv's set to watch whatever sport you would like (they even had UFC which hubby pointed out.)  We were escorted to a booth where we were immediately greeted by our server, Sherry, who told us the drink specials & took our drink order.  Jess then came to our table and greeted us, and I knew that I already liked the restaurant for this personal service (Note: Jess & I have never met prior to this, really, it was all Twitter!)  A BIG thank you again to Jess for such a great greeting and the pleasant surprise treat!

We quickly ordered nachos after receiving our drinks as we continued to look over the menu.  Now, I have a special place in my heart (and stomach) for nachos, and I have to say, they have a spicy sour cream that they drizzle all over which is utterly amazing.  I loved the nachos, and could have kept eating them.  They are now one of my top faves...I can see myself eating them in the summer on that patio they have!

I had ordered a grilled buffalo wrap (which was average) with mac & cheese as my side.  This is another great thing about this meal - mac & cheese.  It isn't an upgraded side, it is actually one of their main options!  I couldn't pass it up, and was very glad I didn't.  Hubby ordered a burger with mushrooms, American cheese (he was very happy that American was an option, not only cheddar and the other cheeses listed) and bacon.  What was so great about this burger is that it was cooked perfect to his ordering, and it was cooked on a grill.  I mean, it had that charcoal taste that you just crave when tailgating..but it is the dead of winter, and that burger was perfect on the chilly night.  I kept sneaking bites, which is probably why I ended up taking half of my wrap home and enjoying it the next day.

Now, I mentioned specials earlier.  A seasonal Sam Adam's pint for only $4.  Amazing, and of course, they had other specials too.  Our meal totaled less than $45, including tax and tip.  It could have been an expensive meal if you wanted it too (they had a wide variety of pricing and options on their menu,) and we were really happy with the price for all that we received.

I'm looking forward to a return, especially when the weather warms up.  And next time, I'll have my friends in tow for a casual evening & friendly company!
